West Chester University announces it’s first ever engineering major – biomedical engineering.
February 2019
Marc Duey donates $1 Million to West Chester University for the construction of the Duey Biomedical Engineering Center and Duey Immersive Learning Center where health-care majors will have the unique opportunity to receive training in a real-world hospital setting.
August 2019
The first cohort of biomedical engineering students, the class of 2020, begin their academic journey.
March 2020
West Chester Biomedical AI Solutions (WC Bio AI), a biomedical engineering start-up focused on identifying, developing and commercializing advanced life science technologies, drug delivery platforms and novel devices to move healthcare forward is founded.
April 2020
West Chester Biomedical AI Solutions announces its first licensing deal with SoundMedicine for the rights of a proprietary patented acoustic medical device for auscultation. WC Bio AI Solutions and the BME students of West Chester University, begin the process of developing an innovative and affordable at-home lung monitoring technology to address the current challenges for patients with chronic lung conditions.
